The Gutshaus

Where tradition and modernity meet

History

Discover the Gutshaus Moisall’s 100 year history – from 1912 to today.

The Beginning

The Moisall manor house was built in 1912 for the landowner Friedrich Karl Ludwig. It was designed by Paul Johannes Adolf Korffin the neo-baroque style. It was then resold in 1915.

Post War Times

When the Soviet Army moved in in 1945, the Gutshaus served as housing for refugees. During the occupation of the Soviet Army, over 200 people were held prisoner in the manor. Because he could speak Russian, the owner at the time was allowed to stay in the house with the refugees.

A stone to remember the land reform of September 3, 1945 still stands in front of the house today.

The Renovation

The house stood empty from 1992 to 1994 when it was bought. In 2006 it was sold again to Drill-Quest Engineering Germany GmbH. That's when the renovations, of which the house was in dire need, began.

Today

The Gutshaus Moisall is now a guesthouse and popular event location for weddings and other events. Our rooms have been renovated to meet modern building standards, while paying tribute to their history in their design. Each room has its own unique style that bridges the gap between modernity and tradition. We look forward to welcoming you at the Gutshaus.
